The Technical Working Group (TWG) Malaria, together with the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) Indonesia, is conducting the 2026 Field Oversight Visit (FOV) as part of efforts to monitor and oversee the implementation of malaria control programmes in Indonesia.

The 2026 FOV is scheduled to take place from 17 September to 23 October 2026 across five provinces: Aceh, Central Papua, Maluku, Gorontalo, and East Nusa Tenggara. In Central Papua and East Nusa Tenggara, in-person visits will be conducted in Mimika District from 21–25 September 2026 and Alor District from 19–23 October 2026, respectively. In Aceh, Maluku and Gorontalo, the FOVs will be conducted virtually via Zoom Meeting.

The FOV is part of the responsibilities of the TWG Malaria and CCM Indonesia to oversee the performance of AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria control programmes, as well as to monitor the implementation of programmes supported by the Global Fund (GF) grants. The visits cover a number of relevant facilities and work units, including Provincial Health Offices, District/City Health Offices, Community Health Centres (Puskesmas), Regional General Hospitals (RSUD), Health Pharmacy Installations, and other relevant units.

The FOV aims to review the implementation of the Global Fund-supported Malaria Elimination Programme, including activity planning, financial systems, procurement, and reporting. It also reviews progress against malaria programme targets and indicators, as well as the implementation of the January–June 2026 work plan and its compliance with the Grant Conditions/Requirements.

The activity also provides an opportunity to gather information and feedback from the field on programme implementation, including identifying various challenges encountered in the implementation of malaria programmes.
